The proposal is to transform a disused textile manufacturing building into a new cultural centre for the Alevi community of London. The main functions of the Centre are a Cem salon, a cafeteria for daily use and special events and a space for funerals. All services and administration are concentrated at the front of the building, with a glazed ‘street’ at the heart of the centre, opening out onto an external courtyard.
