Located on the fringes of Vodice, Slovenia, this mixed-use project is situated literally on the edge between the industrial area to the south and housing to the north, with stunning views offered across the landscape. The lower ground floor will have access from the industrial side as the central kitchen for a restaurant, with a show room and small apartment the next level up. The upper floors will take advantage of the great location and views by forming an apartment for the founders of the business. With regulations demanding a roof between 30 and 45 degrees our approach has been to take this constraint as an opportunity to create a volumetric play of planes, surfaces, light and form. A perimeter pool reflections playing on the forms of the inner roof surfaces, creates an ethereal quality of light.
