The Three Sisters

Slovenia
Spring 2008

In addition to staging Chekhov’s Three Sisters, this production introduces another layer: that of an actor’s experience of performing in a play as opposed to living his/her real life. It exposes the safe certainty and predictability of their experience on the set of a play as opposed to the total uncertainty and openness of real life. The set reflects this by doubling the defined and particular elements on the set for The Three Sisters in the front and in the background of the stage; positioning similar elements in the same spatial relationships only this time they are unspecific and undefined.
